Wolverton

“It’s got to just be coincidence,” Lisa says, but hoping it’s not true.  Wolverton shakes his head and gestures towards the bits of manuscript and a small carved stone in front of them.

“No, I don’t think so.  The Norseman Hjorflotti and the air courier Albertson both describe the same details of the island they encountered.”

She bites her lip, looking at the patterns etched into the stone.  “So maybe it’s from there.  Now what?”

He sees her then, sitting together on her bed, excited and wondering.  He doesn’t see her now, huddled on a padded white floor, catatonic and empty.
